Walking tour no. 83 “Crossroads Trail”

Discover the preserved beauty of the Berry bocage during a hike around Pouligny-Notre-Dame. Take the country lanes lined with hedgerows, offering breathtaking views of the vast expanses of cultivated fields. It is a 23.9 km hike which will take you not far from the highest point of the department "Le Fragne": this hamlet with solid granite buildings bears witness to significant agricultural activity. Here, in the land of chestnut trees, you should know that the beech was originally the most common tree that in the local dialect was called "fragne", "fayot", or "fayard".
