The sacrificial altar, the stones of the God of Thunder and that of War, La Bascule, Les Pains de sucre…. The Pierres Jaumâtres are a place of legends par excellence. At the top of Mont Barlot, around forty huge blocks of granite emerge and stand in an improbable balance. Place of sacrifice? Great Druid Altar? Tables of mother goddesses or cradle of the Devil? Uncertainty remains… The fact remains that the site (classified) was a popular place for walks by George Sand and Chopin, it offers a panoramic view of Berry, Bourbonnais and the Boussac Valley.
