The only Limousin pond of natural origin, this 100-hectare body of water, a national nature reserve, is home to more than 400 plant species and 600 animal species. Its superficial form (maximum depth of 2 meters; sandy bottom) promotes the development of many extremely rare natural environments such as reedbeds.
Main owner and manager of the site, the Departmental Council of Creuse ensures its ecological management with the scientific support of the Conservatoire des Espaces Naturels du Limousin, and conducts environmental education actions. Marked paths all around the pond allow you to observe the animals without disturbing them (swimming prohibited).
Free activities are organized from April to November.
