The Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée Touraine-Chenonceaux

The Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée Touraine-Chenonceaux is closely linked to the Château de Chenonceau estate and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This appellation is the perfect harmony between nature, made of water, air and greenery, and a unique architecture such as the Château de Chenonceau.

This appellation now covers more than 110 cultivated hectares.

The ladies' vineyard

The various owners of the Palais des Dames did not just embellish the house, they also gave life to a remarkable wine estate. Diane de Poitiers, in particular, made it an important source of income. Her successors continued this work. Even today, nearly half of the appellation's winegrowers are women.

In line with this tradition, every year since 2014, an exclusively female jury has met to elect six bottles that will be exhibited on the walls of the château's cellar for five years before being auctioned for the benefit of charity. .
